Tailored for Horse Lovers ★

This clinic is tailored for horse lovers eager to delve into the world of horses, whether you’re a new horse owner, looking to reconnect with horses naturally, have recently adopted a horse, or are considering horse adoption from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, or anywhere else.

The format will be 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, allowing for some rest & relaxation, volunteering at the Sanctuary, or exploring one of the many National Parks in the area.

Clinic days will be:

• June 27 & 28 – June 30th & July 1st
• Rest/Explore day: June 29th

Bring your own horse. All breeds, all disciplines are welcome!

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary ★

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is a unique place on earth, located in the picturesque Angel Canyon, near Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Zion Canyon.

A couple of thousand animals of all species call Angel Canyon their home and get to live out their lives there, thanks to Best Friends.

I feel very honored to get to be a part of that community and can’t wait to share that special place and those lovely people with you!

What to Expect ★

Comprehensive Learning:

We will cover groundwork as well as riding essentials (where applicable, riding is not mandatory), catering to horse lovers of all ages & stages and those seeking to rekindle their passion for horses.

Really get to know your horse, from the inside out!

Think: good citizen behavior, creating a stronger bond, better manners, understanding boundaries, building connection, relaxation & responsiveness, while getting rid of resistance & tension.

In essence, the simple things are done well!

Group and Individual Sessions:

Engage in group activities and smaller group sessions tailored to the skill level of you & your horse, and set you up for success to reach your goals in the future!

Theory Sessions and Simulations:

Gain the essential knowledge about horse psychology & behavior, then apply theoretical concepts in hands-on simulations so that you can become the partner and leader your horse needs you to be!

Facility Tour:

Explore the renowned Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, gaining insights not only into horse rescue and rehabilitation efforts, but all kinds of animals & pets who have found a temporary or more long-term home at Best Friends.

 

Accommodation ★

Choose from cozy on-site cabins, charming on-site cottages, or the rustic ambiance of the Roadhouse, the Best Friends’ very own dog-friendly hotel in Kanab.

Alternatively, you may bring your living quarters trailer as your home away from home.

You will even have the unique opportunity to give one of the 4-legged residents of Best Friends Sanctuary the luxury of a sleepover during your visit, only applicable to cats or dogs, just saying, in case you were hoping to bring an equine to bed with you! 😉
